7th Abu Dhabi Film Festival 2013 Dates Announced
Festival to run 24th October to 2nd November
Abu Dhabi, UAE - 25 February 2013: The
Abu Dhabi Film Festival will return for its seventh edition in 2013
from October 24th through till November 2nd. A key event in Abu
Dhabi's cultural calendar, the Film Festival contributes to the
Emirate being positioned as a regional creative hub through its
focus on high quality, Arab cinema.
Plans are well underway for an exciting ten day programme of
Arab and international cinema, complemented by red carpet premieres
and a host of events. The Festival presents films in eight
sections. New feature length and short works compete for Black
Pearl Awards in the Narrative, Documentary, New Horizons,
International Shorts and Emirates Film Competition programmes.
Other recent films, retrospectives and restored classics are
presented in the Showcase and Special Programmes sections. More

Like the 2012 edition, there will be a key focus on education,
providing learning and development opportunities through
world-class master classes, workshops and industry meetings,
delivered by regional and international film experts to help shape
future generations of Arab filmmakers.
"Abu Dhabi enjoys a unique position in the region's Film Festival
calendar as it marks the start of the festival season in the
region," commented Ali Al Jabri, ADFF Festival Director. "ADFF is
currently the only Festival in the region where Arab films are
screened alongside international productions in competition, which
has allowed the Festival to attract the most important Arab
produced films. 2013 will be no exception."

coming Saudi producer," he added. "We will continue our focus on
Arab filmmakers this year as we look to strengthen the position of
Abu Dhabi and ADFF as the emotional heart of the region's film
