ADFF Calls Out to All Fashionistas, Mademoiselle C is Not to Be Missed
'Mademoiselle C' by Fabien ConstantMademoiselle C is an exclusive invitation to the world of fashion. The narrator and star of this documentary is none other than Carine Roitfeld, the one-time editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, a French national of Russian origin who has born into a privileged life and education. In this film, we are given a sneak peek into her professional as well as her personal life, where we meet her daughter Julia who has already established herself in the fashion world as her mother has and is about to give birth. We also get the chance to meet her son Vladimir an artist and her partner Christian Restoin.
In the footage shown, we are taken behind the scenes of many important fashion shows around the globe; we meet some of her well know friends who are key figures in the fashion industry, such as Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford and Alexander Wang among many others. The documentary captures the transition and controversy behind Roitfeld’s resignation from her post of ten years as the editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris and her attempt to launch a her own magazine, the CR fashion book.
Fabien Constant gives us a privileged seat in the fast moving world of fashion. AsHeidi Klum is known for saying, “In fashion, one day you are in and the next day you are out.” However, we don’t see Carine Roitfeld worrying about it; she gives off an air of confidence that is admirable. Despite having lost some friends since starting her own endeavor, her true and real friends have stood by her.
