Project Logline:
Rita, a cold and misanthropic economics professor, learns that her younger – and only – brother drowned on Beach 99. As Rita waits for the ocean to wash up his remains so he can be buried, she realizes he has left some traces for her to track and discover the reasons for his alleged suicide. Her search leads her through the heart of Morocco, to a sordid cabaret, a cinema and a slum.
Hicham Lasri was born in Casablanca. After legal studies, he began a career as a writer. He wrote his first feature film for Omar Chraibi and then collaborated with directors Taieb Louhichi, Lahcen Zinoun, Rachid El Ouali and Nabil Ayouch.
