Tunis, summer of 2010, a few months before the revolution, Farah turns 18. Leyla Bouzid was born in Tunis, where she is an active member of the association of young Tunisian filmmakers. After graduation, she moved to Paris to study French literature. She began her career in the cinema as assistant director on several films and in 2006 she co-directed her first short film, Sbeh el Khir. She studied directing at the FEMIS in Paris. Soubresauts was presented in competition at the Festival International du Court Métrage de Clermont-Ferrand in January 2012.
