One Christmas morning, a strange parcel arrives at Maia’s doorstep and shakes up her life. The box contains the notebooks, photographs and audiotapes she exchanged with her best friend Carine between 1982 and 1988, before leaving Lebanon. Haunted by painful memories, she refuses to go through the contents, but her young daughter Alex has a different plan. With each memoir, Alex starts fantasising about her mother’s life as a teenager in the 80’s.
