Project Synopsis:
One of the best honeybee trackers in Ras Al Khaimah faces a challenge as bees begin to die off, and collecting honey has become harder than ever before. Guided by Sheikha Ali Saif Al Qaydi, a woman known for her brave moves and sharp skills, he realises that there are lots of lessons to be learned from others. Just as they start to work together, their contrasting realities put them to the test.
Nujoom Al Ghanem is a film director and poet from the UAE, who studied filmmaking and production from the US and Australia. Over the years, she has directed several short films including “Ice Cream”, “The Park”, and “Between Two Banks”, as well as feature length documentaries such as “Almureed”, “Hamama”, “Amal” and “Red, Blue, Yellow”. Her previous documentary, “Sounds of the Sea”, was screened at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival in 2014.
