As a result of arrests, kidnappings and displacement by regime, there are currently an estimated 50,000 missing persons in Syria. This story is about giving a human face to the statistics of the disappeared, and showcases the lingering presence that haunts us even in their absence.
Yasmin Fedda is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, a PhD in Trans-disciplinary Documentary Film, and the co-founder of Highlight Arts. Her BAFTA nominated films have been screened at festivals such as Sundance and Edinburgh International Film Festival. Her most recent feature, “Queens of Syria”, won the Black Pearl award at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival in 2014.
